Can someone's consciousness take over another person's consciousness?

Sometimes when I go out too long I swear I can feel it. Is is possible for the bubble of thought waves that envelop everyone to envelop another person's thought waves? It's obviously an energy that powers it, so I worry that someone's thought wave energy may be able to consume my thought wave energy. Sometimes I can see why so called crazy people wear tin foil hats.
