I'm getting a new Laptop and I want to self install a new CPU can I?

On laptops, CPUs are soldered down on the motherboard. You would need to replace the motherboard with a motherboard that has an i5 soldered onto it. You could just as well get another laptop for that money. If you worked at HP in the factory assembling a few hundred computers a day then you might have the skills.
